What is your job role at Harper?
Senior Lecturer in Land & Property
Where did you study?
Harper Adams University, of course!
What are your professional qualifications?
MRICS and FAAV
What are your previous job roles?
Rural Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer
What is your specialist subject?
Valuation and Planning
What is your favourite module and why?
Valuation and Estate Management for the 1st year undergraduates, because I clearly remember being introduced to valuation methods myself and can be empathetic.
Why do you like working at Harper?
Great colleagues, fun students and a beautiful campus all help! I especially like the very low rate of staff turnover, meaning there are familiar faces wherever I go.
What opportunities do you see for Harper LPM graduates?
Rural Surveying is a wide subject and I don’t think it’s possible to ‘know it all’. There are many opportunities to find the areas that interest you, and plenty of work available, regardless of the route you choose. It can also act as a very valuable and useful stepping stone for those that decide to move to another profession, those wanting to manage their own properties, or those wanting to start their own businesses.
Where can I get in touch with you if I have any questions about the LPM courses at Harper?
